Individual Therapy -Telehealth

As time is limited and your life becomes more demanding, making mental health a priority can be a challenge. Whether you are a working professional, a busy parent, or simply live in an area where mental health access is limited, no longer need to be barriers to self-care. Telehealth (virtual therapy) allows you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your home or job by utilizing a HIPPA compliant platform in order to protect your privacy and confidentiality. All you need to participate in therapy is a computer or cell phone and a quiet space to talk privately.

Individual therapy can help with feelings of depression and anxiety, relational difficulties, or any problems that you have tried to solve on your own. Therapy offers a supportive and non-judgmental space for people to share experiences, set goals, process emotions, create healthy relationships, and better understand and effectively work with their thought processes. Therapy also helps people gain insight and awareness into their own ways of feeling, thinking, behaving, and relating with others. You do not have to have a mental health issue to obtain positive benefits from therapy, as it can help people make desired changes in their lives.

There are many forms and frameworks of psychotheraphy, but research shows that the most important factor is the therapeutic relationship. Feeling comfortable and understood by your therapist is a fundamental component for change to occur. Dr. Martinez values the relationships established with her clients and believes that healing occurs through the safety of this relationship. Her empathic, collaborative, and individually-tailored approach helps clients find their voice through increased self-awareness, self-compassion, and positive coping skills.

Dr. Martinez has an integrative therapeutic approach to working with clients. She incorporates a variety of techniques depending on each patient’s individual needs. These include elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness based interventions, and trauma informed treatment to help create healthier habits, improve self-esteem, gain insight into relationship dynamics, reduce stress, and break unhelpful patterns.

Dr. Martinez offers individual psychotherapy for adolescents (13-17) and adults of all ages.
